This approach is rooted in living and dancing in Japan as a student and member of a Butoh troupe led by Min Tanaka, and in many years of evolving exploration of the social body and its imagination.
It invites expression of self and embodied experience through movement, sound, and space. A somatic lens means moving from sensation — becoming sensitive to the flux of energy within us and in the world around us. It is an invitation to loosen fixed expectations and live more fully in imagination.
The aim is not a linear composition or a perfect arrangement of movement, but to open the senses and create a conversation with your body and your own story. Everyone has a story to tell — what is yours? Your story moves you; every class, workshop, or retreat is an invitation to listen to it speaking from every cell of your body.
